Valencia is not only famous for its sunny weather, delicious paella, and the City of Arts and Sciences. It’s also packed with free cultural, natural, and social activities that let you enjoy the city like a local—without breaking the bank.

Here’s a list of awesome free things to do in Valencia to help you make the most of your time here:

1. Discover the Natural Pools Near Valencia

Less than an hour away from the city, you’ll find natural gems like Hoces del Cabriel Natural Park, El Salto de la Novia in Navajas, and the natural springs of Montanejos. These spots are perfect for hiking, picnicking, and taking a refreshing dip—especially in summer.

Tip: Arrive early (they can get busy), bring water and snacks, and enjoy a healthy and super Instagram-worthy day trip.

2. Free Jam Sessions at Blacknote Club

Into live music? The Blacknote Club hosts free jam sessions every week. It’s the perfect spot to discover local talent—think jazz, funk, and more—all in a chill atmosphere full of good vibes.

3. Free Cinema at La Nau

La Nau Cultural Center, part of the University of Valencia, offers free film screenings, often followed by talks or debates. You’ll find a mix of indie, European, and classic films.

5. Catch the Sunset at Albufera Natural Park

As a bonus, head to Albufera Natural Park, just a few kilometers from the city, to watch one of the most stunning sunsets in Valencia. Explore the walking trails, spot local birds, and enjoy a peaceful lakeside picnic.

Take EMT bus line 25 or bike there (around 14 km from the city).
Tip: Bring snacks and relax by the water.

6. Enjoy the View from Ateneo Mercantil’s Rooftop (Free on Special Days)

While normally there’s a small fee, the rooftop of Ateneo Mercantil, right by Plaza del Ayuntamiento, offers free entry during cultural events or special dates. It’s one of the best spots for a panoramic view of the historic city center.
