Holy Week is around the corner, bringing holidays and time to relax. But if you're staying in Madrid, don't worry—we've got some amazing plans you can’t miss! This city offers the perfect blend of culture, tradition, and fun. From iconic processions to the best nightlife, Madrid has something special for everyone.

Try the Best Torrijas in Madrid

Holy Week in Madrid wouldn’t be complete without torrijas, a traditional Spanish dessert loved by locals and tourists alike. It’s made of bread soaked in milk, honey, and eggs, fried to perfection, and sprinkled with sugar and cinnamon. If you want to try the best ones, check out these spots:

  • La Duquesita (Calle de Fernando VI, 2) – A classic Madrid pastry shop serving torrijas made with a traditional recipe.

  • El Riojano (Calle Mayor, 10) – Founded in 1855, this historic bakery offers torrijas with a unique touch.

  • Casa Mira (Carrera de San Jerónimo, 30) – Famous for its nougat, but their torrijas are also a must-try during Holy Week.

Experience Madrid’s Traditional Tamborrada

One of the most impressive Holy Week traditions is the Tamborrada, where the sound of drums fills the streets of Madrid. This spectacular event takes place on Good Friday at Plaza Mayor, starting around 12:00 PM. It’s a solemn and mesmerizing experience that attracts thousands of visitors every year.

Escape to Patones de Arriba, the Most Beautiful Village Near Madrid

If you want to take a break from the city, visit Patones de Arriba, a charming stone village with cobbled streets and breathtaking views. It’s often considered one of the most beautiful villages in the Madrid region—perfect for a day trip and some delicious local food in a peaceful rural setting.

Getting there from Madrid:

  • By bus: Take line 197 from Plaza de Castilla (about 1.5 hours).

  • By car: A 50-minute drive, taking the A-1 highway and then the M-134 road to the village.

Party Nights at ICON

For those looking for a fun night out, ICON is one of Madrid’s most popular clubs. With a mix of international music and an electric atmosphere, it’s the perfect place to experience Madrid’s nightlife. Located at Calle del Dr. Cortezo, 1, right in the city center, it’s easily accessible from anywhere in Madrid.

With parties starting from Tuesday, you can choose the best night to go and enjoy their themed events.Get your tickets here!

Enjoy the April Fair at Hipódromo de la Zarzuela

Seville may be the heart of Feria de Abril, but Madrid also joins the celebration! At Hipódromo de la Zarzuela, you’ll find flamenco music, traditional Andalusian-style casetas, and plenty of fun. It’s the perfect way to experience the lively Andalusian spirit in the Spanish capital.

Dates: April 12 & 13, 2025
Tickets available on Fever
