The best way to visit and explore Florence is on foot, given the small center and all the main attractions nearby.

It is recommended to avoid getting around the city by car and taxi, because of the restrictions imposed for ZTL (limited traffic zone).

Bus

The city buses of Florence have 43 daytime and also some night lines.

You can use this bus to reach attractions located outside the center, where you can buy a 90-minute ticket for 1.50€, or to save money, you can buy the carnet from 10 at a cost of 14.00€, or the monthly subscription to 35.00€.

It is always better to buy single tickets in vending machines or newsstands, because if purchased on board the bus, they will cost 2.50€.

In these transport services there are no daily and weekly subscriptions.

Daytime bus schedules generally run from 5:50 to 23:50, while night buses run until 3:00.

Tram

The Florence tram consists of 2 lines: the T1 and the T2.

Ticket and subscription prices are the same as for city buses; the ticket must be purchased before boarding the tram, in the appropriate machines.

The tram is generally active from 5:30 until 00:30.

The tram is recommended to move between the airport and Florence.

Sharing services

  • Bit Mobility: service for the electric scooter. Standard rate unlock €1,00, €0,15/min and €0,05 on break. Also available packages and subscriptions, as a daily subscription from 3.99€.
  • MoBike: bike sharing service, ideal for the historic center and surroundings, thanks to the presence of many bike paths. Cost € 1.00 every 20 minutes, available subscriptions (daily pass from € 4.99, monthly from € 12.99).
  • Enjoy: car sharing service, allows you to park the vehicle for free on the blue stripes and enter with some limitations in the ZTL. Available over 70 vehicles, from €0.19/min, with daily subscription from €49.00 up to 50 km.
