If you’re a fan of exploring unique or hidden gems when you travel, you can’t miss this event called Bienvenidos a Palacio. A cultural program where you’ll get the chance to discover palaces and historic buildings that are usually closed to the public.

What is “Bienvenidos a Palacio”?

It’s a cultural initiative by the Community of Madrid that allows visitors to discover 22 emblematic palaces —many of them usually closed— through free guided tours led by heritage experts. Since its launch, more than 95,500 people have participated.

The tours reveal the architectural heritage, furnishings, art collections, gardens, and halls that once hosted literary gatherings, soirées, and political meetings.

This year, the event will take place from September 14 to December 2, 2025, but if you’d like to visit any of the palaces, you’ll need to register starting September 3.

How to register & tips

  • Visit the official website starting September 3 at 10:00 a.m. and check the program calendar.

  • Decide in advance which palaces interest you most, so you don’t waste time when booking.
  • Maximum of two tickets per registration, valid for only one palace at a time.
  • If you don’t get a ticket, you’ll enter a virtual waiting list (which doesn’t guarantee a spot).
  • Cancel in advance if you can’t attend, so someone else can enjoy the visit.
  • The confirmation email may take up to 72 hours; check your spam folder.
