Neighbourhood Description
Ciutat Vella stands for The Old Town in Valencian language. It’s the best neighbourhood in Valencia to get lost…just stroll around its narrow winding streets with no fixed destination! When living here you can really feel what Valencia is all about. Its bustling atmosphere and its mediaeval monuments in the northern part of Ciutat Vella neighbour upon the shopping hub in its southern part.
Main spots
Pass through the iconic Torres de Serranos. Lose yourself in the cobbled avenues and vibrant streets.
You’ll find street art and ramshackle shops. Tiny cafes with tiny terraces serving great food. Some of Valencia’s best nightlife spots are here, too.
Admire Ciutat Vella’s architectural treasures:
Gothic Llotja de Seda – a World Heritage Site
Mercat Central – an art nouveau masterpiece
The Cathedral – Micalet, the bell-tower, is a symbol of Valencia
Getting around
The area is well served by public transport by having two metro stations that connect you with the various lines of the Valencia metro network:
- Metro Colon – lines 3, 5, 7 and 9
- Metro Xativa - lines 3, 5 and 9
Estació del Nord, that conects you to the long term metro.
