Retiro neighborhood is located just a few steps from the centre of Madrid, limiting with Salamanca neighborhood. It’s divided in 6 districts: Pacífico, Adelfas, Estrella, Ibiza, Jerónimos and Niño Jesús.

Retiro is a residential neighborhood, but you can find all the life and leisure in the Retiro Park, its most visited attraction. 

• If it’s the first time you visit it, you can take a guided tour and learn about this historical place while enjoying all the beautiful spots. However, once you know more about it, there’s a lot of things you can do to spend your free time in here, either with your friends or by yourself. 
• You can rent a rowing boat and admire the views from the water, but be careful and watch your rowing skills! It’s a lovely activity to do with your group of friends or your partner, and it’s not expensive at all! (6 euros during the week and 8 euros on weekends).
• You can take a cultural visit through the most interesting places in here: the Glass Palace, the Fallen Angel fountain, Rosaleda Rose garden… And what’s more, you can rent a bike, it will make the visit more dynamic!
• If you want to spend a more relaxed day, you can just simply stroll around the park, watch the street artists doing their thing and drink something in a terrace, you will love the atmosphere! Another idea we give you, is to bring your own food, lie on the grass and make a little picnic with your friends.
• In Retiro, there’s a plan for everyone. When the good weather comes, you can do sport here! It’s not unusual to see runners and skaters at any time of the day, but there’s plenty of other options that have become popular recently, such as doing outdoor yoga! 

Nightlife in Madrid

If you want to have a fun night out, Retiro is a great area for you. Here, there are a lot of bars where you can have some beers or cocktails and spend your time. Still, if your body isn’t tired, you can end the night in a local, listening to music and dancing until 6 am! Because, of course, the locals love to make the most of their stay and stay up till dawn. 

The most trendy local here is Florida Retiro, but there’s others like 90 Grados or Tramontana. Besides all this, Retiro is well located near the centre of Madrid, so you can easily move there to spend the night. Madrid’s nightlife is something you definitely have to experience!
