Moncloa neighborhood owes its name to the Counts of Moncloa, who lived in the old Palace of Moncloa. This palace was destroyed during the Civil War, and the one we can see today was built copying the style of the old one, but much smaller.
Today, this area is a residential neighborhood mixed with a commercial and a vibrant atmosphere, where a lot of families, but especially students, choose to live.
Moncloa is located just a few steps away from the city centre, and it’s very well connected with it, so you will be able to reach the most important tourist spots in only 10 minutes, or even less. Besides, it’s probably the perfect area for international students and young workers, as it’s next to Ciudad Universitaria, where some of the most important universities and colleges of Madrid are located.
It neighbors with Argüelles and Princesa area, couldn’t be closer to all amenities! If you rent a room in Moncloa, you won’t miss anything, as here there’s a lot of green spaces, commercial areas, interesting spots, supermarkets, restaurants…
